Vincent Decatはパリを拠点とするアーティスト＝デザイナーで、エイントホーフェンのDesign Academyを卒業し、デザインと彫刻の境界を探究しています。彼は物の耐久性を材料だけでなく、まず感情的な結びつきを通して捉えようとします。自分の作品をほとんど生きているかのようにすることで、それらは世話をし、守り、慈しむべき仲間となるのです。
Aortaは感覚を呼び覚ます椅子です。内部を通り抜け、体を包み込む血管は触れることと対話を誘います。この血管の網は構造全体を駆けめぐり、生きているかのように部屋と向き合い、対象に接触する感覚をもたらします。
それは粘土と石膏で覆われた金属の骨組みから成っています。
この作品は機能的で、座面が高く設計されています。意図的にひび割れを見せており、手工芸的な成形の証です。

I give my objects organic, animated qualities, hoping that people will grow attached to them the way they would to a pet."
Vincent Decat is an artist-designer based in Paris, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers the durability of an object not only through its materials but primarily through the emotional connection we establish with it. By making his pieces almost alive, they become companions that need to be cared for, cherished, and preserved over time.
