乳白色の筋のあるアルバスター石の花瓶。卵形の長い胴体は底が丸く、短い円筒形の首が上に載り、口縁は幅広く、厚く滑らかに整えられている。胴体の上部には対向する二つの小さな横向きの突起が配置されている。内側は丁寧にくり抜かれており、表面は細かく磨かれて石の透明感と自然な変化を際立たせる。この種の花瓶は、貴重なオイル・軟膏・香水を保存・輸送するのに用いられ、日常生活のほか、葬祭の場にも用いられた。
- 古代エジプト、恐らく後期時代。
- 寸法：108 × 61 × 61 mm
- 年代：紀元前664年 - 紀元前332年
- 出自：1970年から1980年の間にD. P.氏によって構築された旧私蔵コレクション。
- 状態：総じて極めて良好。口縁の一部は以前につき合わせ修復されており、接着部にわずかな欠損が見られる。
