— この曲線の剣は、ヤコマ族、ンガンディ族、サンゴ族、グバンジリ族、ムブグブ族の実用刃に着想を得た、高級の威信を象徴するものだった。
一方、重い刃物は戦争や他の実用的な目的に用いられてきたのに対し、このように軽めの刃は女性の成人儀式に用いられ、年長者の威信の象徴とされていました。ンガンディ族では、この威信ある刃は ngondi として知られていた（Elsen『De fer et de fierté』、2003）
— Ngondi Ngbandi Yakomaの剣は、さまざまな大きさがある。 この剣は非常に重く、ダンスや女性の成人儀式に用いられるものとして、中にはしばしばはるかに小さい刃を持つものもある。 見事な一品。
