メロ・ブロデリピィ – 大型の巻貝殻 - 29.5 cm
巨観的な大型標本であるメロ・ブロデリピィは、その巨大な膨出した体部、極めて広い開口部、そして優雅で流れるような輪郭が特徴的な、圧倒的な巻貝です。
この標本は、特に幅広く彫刻的な形状を示し、大きな体部螺紐が広大な唇部へと開く構造になっています。内側には明るいアプリコットやピーチ、柔らかなオレンジ色など、暖かな色調が美しく広がり、外側の淡いクリーム色と蜂蜜色の表面と対照を成しています。
外表面には成長線がはっきりと残り、微妙な自然色の変化が見られ、丸みを帯びた胴部と低い塔型が、成熟したメロの標本特有の巨大な外観を与えています。
写真にも明らかなように、殻には自然な磨耗痕や表面の傷、古い損傷/補修の跡が外側に特に見受けられます。これらの特徴は本個体の状態の一部であり、落札時の評価に考慮されるべきです。とはいえ、これらの欠点にもかかわらず、殻は全体的な形状を完璧に保ち、堂々たる装飾的存在感を持っています。
