Scorcio veneziano, an original oil painting by Rino Contini (1960–1970), Italy, hand signed, 91 cm by 71 cm, sold with its frame.
Description from the seller
ここに presented here, signed by Rino Contini, returns a gathered and silent Venetian view, where the slow gliding of the gondola seems almost audible in the gentle lapping of the water. The composition unfolds along a central canal-side perspective, guiding the viewer's gaze toward the bridge in the background.
The painting technique reveals a masterful vibrant brushwork, with light impastos and overlapped glazes: the architectures emerge through tonal fields, while the reflections in the water — rendered with horizontal strokes — convey an enchanted and mirror-like dimension, almost tangible. The color palette, between warm ochres, softened reds and damp greens, suggests the freshness of the lagoon air.
The Gothic building on the right introduces a vertical accent that balances the lateral masses, while the overall scene maintains an intimate and everyday character.
The Venetian view fantasizes itself inspired by quiet vignettes between Cannaregio and Castello, filtered by the memory and sensitivity of the artist.
At the bottom one reads the usual signature of the painter.
The painting comes from a private collection in Padua.
Accompanying the work is the original frame, provided as a courtesy.
Dimensions: 91 cm x 71 cm.
