— このタイプの斧、キロンダと呼ばれるものは、主にソンゲ族によって製作されましたが、 Nsapo やルバ族によっても作られていました。その形は実用武器に大きく影響を受けていましたが、厳密には名誉と装飾の象徴でした。ソンゲの鍛冶職人は広く鍛冶の巨匠として認識されており、刃を飾るために熱間・冷間の鍛造技法を用いて美化していた（Elsen『De fer et de fierté』2003；Lefebvre & De Waele『Kilonda』2011；Neyt『Songye』2004）。
