After stretching onto a wooden frame, the visible format is approximately 160 × 99 cm. The final measurements may vary slightly depending on the thickness of the stretcher used.
“Misty Light” from the Birch Reflections series depicts a quiet birch landscape where light, natural textures, and a deliberately reduced color palette merge.
Bright, almost silver-like birch trunks emerge from a multilayered beige, greige, and soft earthy-toned background. Deep green foliage forms a loose canopy in the upper area, creating a strong contrast to the calm, light surroundings. A diffuse glow of light between the trees enhances the atmospheric depth and evokes light filtering through fine morning mist.
The landscape is deliberately not rendered in minute detail. Some contours dissolve almost into the background, while dark drawings of birch bark and fine, graphically appearing branches provide targeted accents. This creates a play of clarity and blur, proximity and distance.
A special role is played by the surface texture of the painting. Parts of the foliage are worked in a paste-like and relief manner. The individual leaves thus possess tangible plasticity and throw fine shadows when light strikes from the side, giving the treetop additional depth and liveliness.
The multilayered background also responds to changing light. Depending on viewing angle and illumination, cooler gray-beige tones or warmer, slightly shimmering sand- and gold-toned hues come forward more strongly. As a result, the painting subtly changes its effect over the course of the day and appears somewhat different under varying light.
Through the combination of a large format, calm composition, natural colorfulness, and textured surface, Misty Light is particularly suitable for modern, minimalist, Japandi, and contemporary interiors. Despite its size, the work preserves a light, meditative aura and can function as both a central eye-catcher and a serene atmospheric element in the room.
The painting is shipped unframed and rolled. The canvas is carefully wrapped around a sturdy cardboard tube and then protected in a robust outer cardboard packaging.
About the artist
Alla Faber lives and works in Hamburg. For several years she has dedicated herself to abstract and modern painting, creating large-scale works that balance between stillness and movement, structure and lightness.
Her preferred materials are acrylic paints, texturing gels, and metal foils—combined in fine, often multi-layered compositions. Through delicate transitions, harmonious color gradients, and light reflections, her images do not dominate the space but fill it with quiet presence.
Her artistic work follows the concept “So klingt die Stille” — a painterly exploration of the moment between sound and silence. In this silence, for Faber there is no emptiness, but a living force: the breathing of light, the whispering of colors, the soft pulsation of the room.
Her works have been shown in several exhibitions in Hamburg and are now in private collections in Europe, the USA, and the United Arab Emirates.
