The Beogram 5000 is a fully automatic, radial-tracking turntable designed by the iconic designer Jacob Jensen.
Originally launched in 1983 and produced until 1986, it was a core component of the groundbreaking Beosystem 5000—a setup that marked B&O's shift from vertical hi-fi racks to a sleek, flat stackable design in brushed aluminum and dark grey plexiglass.
Key Features & Design
Radial Tonearm: Unlike its successor (the tangential Beogram 5005), the 5000 features a classic, ultra-lightweight radial arm engineered for optimal tracking.
Fully Automatic Operation:
The turntable automatically detects the size and speed (33 or 45 RPM) of the record. You can start, stop, and cue the music via the sleek front metal strip without even opening the dust cover.
DataLink Integration:
When connected to a compatible receiver (like the Beomaster 5000), it can be fully operated remotely via the system's Master Control Panel.
Hidden Details: It features an integrated light inside the dust cover that turns on automatically when the lid is lifted to help you read record labels in low light.
