現代日本で最も名高い陶芸作家の一人が静かな威厳を放つ、水指のようなmizusashi。
今井正之の名高いinky技法— 彼の有名な胎第再家の仕上げ群の中で生まれた洗練された捺印花柄の表面— を用いた石灰釉手仕事の水差しは、彼の作品を即座に識別させる dense でリズミカルな質感を帯びています。捺印の花柄模様は丸い胴体全体に均一に広がり、光と影を等しく捕らえ、濃い縁と蓋が静かな権威で作品を地固めします。茶道での実用途を考慮して作られており、機能の規律と熟練した作家の独自のスタイルが同居しています。
【作家プロフィール】
今井正之（1930–2023）は、戦後日本を代表する陶芸作家の一人でした。大阪出身で広島県で育ち、備前で修行した後、九条勝吾の指導を受けるため京都へ移りました。1978年には竹原の自作の芳山窯を築き、京都と広島を行き来して生涯を送ります。胎第再釉技法を開発し、陰刻（表面浮彫）を創始して国際的に認知されました。2003年には日本美術院会員、2018年には日本の最高位の名誉の一つである文化勲章を受章し、日展の理事長も務めました。今井の作品は現在生産されていません。これは限定的な作品群です。
