三畳紀の化石化木の薄片 – 磨かれた化石木

古代の樹木の内部構造と豊かな天然の鉱物化を露出させるために cutting and polishing された、印象的な三畳紀の化石木の薄片です。

この標本は、暖かな赤褐色、錆色、クリーム色、灰色、深いチャコール色の魅力的な組み合わせを特に美しく示しています。 磨かれた表面には、成長構造、放射状の繊維、同心円状の模様がはっきりと現れ、元の木材の組織が保存されている様子が分かります。

数多くの自然亀裂と鉱物充填の脈が標本を横切り、複雑な模様を生み出しており、化石化の長い地質過程を強調しています。 暗い外縁ゾーンは、赤みを帯びた色合いと中央部の淡い色と対比をなし、作品に深みと個性を与えています。

不規則な自然の外周は保存され、粗い外部のテクスチャの一部を保ちつつ、滑らかに磨かれた表面と強い対照を作り出しています。

石化の過程では、元の有機物は鉱物に徐々に置換されましたが、木材の多くの元の構造は保持され、何百万年もの間、古代の幹を石に変えることとなりました。
