マダガスカル産の絶滅ヒポポタム種の歯と牙を5点分集め、6点分として提示する興味深いコレクション。上下の牙2点が対になって保存されているほか、上顎の牙1点、臼歯1点、切歯2点を含む。標本は自然の象牙とエナメル質の表面を示し、埋葬時に形成された茶色・クリーム色・鉱物化した色調が魅力的である。

下顎の牙は元の標本を復元するためにぴったりと合う2つの対応部に自然に折れており、このためこのロットは物理的には6点で構成されるが、実際には5つの歯/牙を代表している。
