Description from the seller
Camel – Camel
Camel – “Camel” Japan LP (1982) – Essential Progressive Rock Classic!
A highly collectible Japanese reissue of the debut album Camel by Camel, released in 1978 by MCA Records Japan under catalog number VIM-4085
Originally released in 1973, this remarkable debut introduced Camel’s unique and melodic approach to progressive rock.
Unlike many heavier prog bands of the era, Camel became known for their elegant instrumental passages, emotional guitar melodies, and sophisticated songwriting.
The album features outstanding musicianship throughout, with memorable tracks such as “Slow Yourself Down” and the epic “Never Let Go,” which quickly became fan favorites.
The sound of Camel perfectly combines atmospheric keyboards, fluid guitar work, jazz influences, and classic progressive rock arrangements, making the album an important cornerstone of 1970s British prog rock.
Japanese pressings from the late 70s are especially respected among collectors for their exceptional pressing quality, quiet vinyl surfaces, and beautifully produced packaging.
MCA Japan editions are often praised for their warm sound and detailed presentation, making them highly desirable for audiophiles and serious vinyl enthusiasts.
Collector’s note:
Japanese Camel releases are becoming increasingly difficult to find in excellent condition, especially complete copies with obi strip and inserts.
A beautiful and timeless addition to any progressive rock vinyl collection.
