Nsapo儀礼斧 – ソンゲ̄、民主共和国
Nsapoと通常呼ばれるタイプの、民主共和国から出たソンゲ̄伝統に属する儀礼斧。
この作品は精巧な造形と、刃の強い彫刻性を特徴としています。広い金属製の反りのある刃を持ち、幾何図案の刻まれた装飾金属部品でいくつも結合されています。全体には明確なパティーナ、錆び、使用と古さの痕跡が写真にも見える形で残っています。
柄は暗色の木材で、上端がやや広がる形状をしており、銅張りの細かな巻き装飾のゾーンが施されています。木材・鉄・金属の組み合わせが、視覚的にも強い存在感を生み出しています。
この種の斧は、単なる実用的な武器としてのみ理解されるべきではありません。ソンゲ̄や同じく cuonゴレン地域の他部族の間でも、名声・地位・社会的な代表性に結びつけられ、装飾の豊かさがその形そのものと同じくらい重要とされる、特に手の込んだ製作例が知られています。
