Grail Collector's Piece: HERMÈS Paris Carré 90 "LES GÉOGRAPHES"
Rare Discontinued Jacquard Silk (Kangaroo & Anchor Weave) – Classic Black (Noir) Colorway
Designed by Sandra Laroche (First Edition, 1992)
One of the most elusive, sought-after, and prestigious grails in the Hermès collector universe: "Les Géographes" (The Geographers), designed by Sandra Laroche to commemorate the historic 1800–1804 French maritime expedition to Australia led by Captain Nicolas Baudin aboard the corvette "Le Géographe".
This piece features the extraordinary, long-discontinued Jacquard silk weave incorporating woven motifs of Australian kangaroos and naval anchors that shimmer three-dimensionally across the deep black silk field. The black colorway is universally considered the most desirable and valuable variant of this design.
