Description from the seller
### Material & Inclusions
Authentic Baltic amber with a rich honey-golden tone, expertly polished to showcase a beautifully preserved **LEAFHOPPER** (family Cicadellidae). The insect is displayed in a natural resting position, revealing its characteristic wedge-shaped body, neatly folded membranous wings, clearly segmented abdomen, and delicate legs. Although compactly preserved, the specimen retains excellent structural definition, making it an attractive example of this ancient plant-feeding insect.
Numerous microscopic air bubbles surround the inclusion, while fine organic filaments and natural resin flow lines create exceptional visual depth. Small traces of botanical debris further enhance the authenticity of this remarkable fossil, preserved approximately 35–50 million years ago.
### Craftsmanship & Presentation
Elegantly shaped into a smooth, elongated teardrop with a high-gloss polish that beautifully enhances the amber's natural transparency and warm coloration. The pendant is fitted with a durable 925 sterling silver bail, providing a timeless and refined finish while keeping the fossil inclusion as the central focus. An excellent piece for collectors of fossil insects, amber enthusiasts, and lovers of natural history.
### UV Testing & Fluorescence
Glows with the characteristic blue-green fluorescence under ultraviolet light, confirming genuine Baltic amber origin. No enhancements, dyes, fillers, or synthetic materials — the amber is entirely natural and untreated.
### Pendant Dimensions
Approximately 27.5 × 13 × 7.5 mm (including bail)
### Geological Origin
Age: approximately 35–50 million years
Epoch: Eocene
Region: Baltic Sea area — world-renowned for producing amber with exceptionally well-preserved prehistoric life.
### Condition & Authenticity
This is a one-of-a-kind specimen of natural Baltic amber containing a genuine **LEAFHOPPER** inclusion.
