THE STORY BEHIND “On My Knees”

Every painting in my studio is born from music. And in my studio, music means a CD or a record, never a playlist. No skipping, no algorithm, no next song chosen for me. I put an album on, I stop thinking, and I stay inside one mood long enough for it to end up on the canvas.

"On My Knees" came out of a night in the studio with RÜFÜS DU SOL turned all the way up. The song builds and builds and never quite lets go, and so does the painting: a flood of turquoise, then baby pink and hot pink crashing across it with drips running down like the beat won't stop. Like all my work, it carries the title of the song that shaped it.

I PAINT LOUD.

Colour is my language, and I don't use it quietly. Layers of acrylic built up with palette knives and brushes, so the surface has texture you want to touch. Energy first, warmth second, and a little melancholy hiding in between.

My paintings live with collectors worldwide, in homes, studios and offices where people wanted colour that actually says something. This one is ready to join them.

About the artist:
