Living National Treasure 松井康成による希少な大理石模様の花瓶で、作品のサイン「昭成(?) shōretsu」という技法をコンパクトな造形に示す。
表面は柔らかなグレーとベージュの層状粘土で作られ、細かな斜めの襞が円形の胴を螺旋状に巡り、やがて細い首に絞られる構造。这个shōretsu（「ひび割れ模様」）の効果は松井自身によって開発され、焼成時に粘土の表面を櫛ですき混ぜることで亀裂が自然に生じるようにした技法で、彼の作業に特有のもので、日本の陶芸鑑定家の間で直ちに認識される。結果は有機的でありながら意図的で、静かな重みのある存在感が近くで見るほどに深まる。
松井康成の作品は国立国際美術館、京都や茨城県陶芸美術館などの主要公共コレクションに所蔵されている。彼は2003年に逝去したため、これは制作が終わった限定的な作品群である。
