Historical and artistic album devoted to the French army and war, with a very important place given to the events of the Franco-Prussian war of 1870-1871.

The artists represent soldiers, officers, uniforms, bivouacs, marches, combat and different scenes of military life. A copy catalogued in 1895 is explicitly described as presenting various paintings on the war of 1870-1871.
