Jonkheer Jan (Cornelis) van Holthe was a Dutch painter born on October 25, 1923 in Surabaya, Dutch East Indies (now Indonesia) and died on October 9, 1996 in Amsterdam, Netherlands.
He studied at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Antwerp and at the Rijksakademie van Beeldende Kunsten in Amsterdam. Van Holthe is known for his landscapes, portraits, still lifes and cityscapes in a figurative style. He mainly worked with oil paint and his work can be seen in various museums and private collections in the Netherlands and abroad. Van Holthe received several prizes and awards for his work, including the Royal Subsidy for Free Painting and the Willink van Collen Prize.
