A plaster and papier‑mâché globe covered with lithographed paper strips, mounted on a very fine original tripod iron base with lion’s paw feet in a Napoleon III style, 57 cm high by 35 cm wide and 35 cm deep, made in Belgium by P Maes and dated to 1850–1900, in good overall condition with age-related craquelure and minor losses but no amateur restoration.
