深い深青の美術ガラス花瓶。戦後日本で最も名高いガラス作家の一人による作品で、表面には金と銀の糸が渦巻き、孔雀の尾羽を思わせる華やかな意匠が施されています。
【作家略歴】
岩田久利（1925–1994）は、戦後日本のガラス美術の旗手の一人であり、先駆的なガラス作家岩田利三の長男です。東京美術学校（現・東京芸術大学）で修業を積み、のちに家族経営のスタジオ岩田ガラスを率い、日本ガラス工芸美術協会を設立し初代会長を務めました。宙吹きガラスの名手として知られ、1983年には「清華（Seika）」で日本美術院賞を受賞しました。岩田は1994年に亡くなったため、彼の作品は現在生産されていません。これは限定的な作品群です。
