Dieses heute nicht mehr existierende Tier wird mit den heutigen Tintenfischen verglichen, weshalb bisweilen die Bezeichnung „Urtintenfisch“ verwendet wird.
Die aus dem Süden Marokkos Coming fossilen Überreste sind durchzogen mit weißen bis grauen Streifen bzw. Ringen und befinden sich vor allem in Schiefern, aber auch in Kalksteinen und eignen sich hervorragend als Schaustück oder auch als Sammelobjekt.
