Vincent Decatはパリを拠点にするアーティスト・デザイナーで、アイントホーフェンのDesign Academyを卒業。デザインと彫刻の境界を探究し、物の耐久性を材料だけで測るのではなく、むしろ生み出す感情的な結びつきを通じて捉えています。彼は自分の作品をほぼ“生きている”かのようにすると、それらは大切に世話をし、守り、慈しむべき仲間へと変わります。
A Little Desert Soulは、砂漠を旅する孤独な旅人として描かれています。周囲の環境によって生まれ、形作られた控えめな存在。
全て手作業で仕上げられたこの作品は、風化したコンクリート、銅、そして布地を組み合わせ、粗い鉱物質の質感と繊細で触覚的な要素を混ぜ合わせています。

I give my objects organic, animated qualities, hoping that people will grow attached to them the way they would to a pet."
Vincent Decat is an artist-designer based in Paris, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers the durability of an object not only through its materials but primarily through the emotional connection we establish with it. By making his pieces almost alive, they become companions that need to be cared for, cherished, and preserved over time.
