私の作品は、所有物というよりも仲間としての役割を果たすことを目的としています。
私の物には有機的で生きている特徴を与え、動物のように愛着を持たれることを望んでいます。
パリを拠点とするアーティスト・デザイナー、ヴァンサン・デカは、エindhoven Design Academyを卒業し、デザインと彫刻の境界を探究しています。彼は、物の持続可能性を材料だけでなく、何よりも生み出す感情的な絆を通じて考えています。自らの作品をほとんど生きているかのようにすることで、それらは世話をし、守り、慈しむべき仲間となるのです。
Aorta（アオルタ）は、感覚を呼び覚ます椅子です。
それを貫き、包み込む静脈は、触れることと対話へと誘います。この構造全体を巡り、外へと出ていくこの血管系は、作品を“生きている”と感じさせ、物との接触を促します。
本体は金属の骨組みに粘土と石膏を覆った構造です。
この作品は機能的で、座面の高さを備えています。
あえてひび割れを表現しており、手工芸による成形の痕跡を物語っています。

Vincent Decat is an artist-designer based in Paris, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers the durability of an object not only through its materials but primarily through the emotional connection we establish with it. By making his pieces almost alive, they become companions that need to be cared for, cherished, and preserved over time.
