高岡の refined Japanese bronze flower vase from Takaoka, created by metal artist Hiroyuki Sano, who worked under the artist name “Kosai.”
The vase features an elegant pair of cranes in flight, rendered in contrasting silver-toned decoration against a deep blue-black bronze surface.
Gold-toned mountain-like forms and subtle textured finishing create depth across the body, giving the piece a sophisticated and distinctly Japanese atmosphere.
Cranes are an important auspicious motif in Japanese art and are traditionally associated with longevity, happiness and good fortune.
Its balanced form and dramatic surface decoration make this vase suitable both as a functional flower vessel and as a decorative piece of Japanese metal art.

Hiroyuki Sano was a Japanese metal artist associated with Takaoka copperware and worked under the art name “Kosai.”

Takaoka copperware developed in Toyama Prefecture and has a history of more than 400 years, becoming one of Japan’s best-known centers for cast-metal craftsmanship.
Takaoka craftsmen are especially recognized for bronze casting, surface coloring, engraving and decorative metal finishing.
