Fine Japanese Noh Mask Replica – "Yuki no Ko-omote" (Snow Ko-omote) Certified Art Collection Issue for Japandi Wall Sculpture
【Description】
An exceptionally fine and elegant Japanese Noh mask (Ko-omote), issued as an official art collection release by the NHK Service Center.
Artistic & Cultural Background:
Iconic Masterpiece Reproduction: Modeled directly after the famous National Treasure / Cultural Property "Yuki no Ko-omote" (Snow Ko-omote), originally carved by master artisan Tatsuemon.
Revered Aesthetic Expression:
Ko-omote represents young, noble female beauty in classical Noh theater, characterized by subtle smiling contours, painted eyebrows (Tenjo-mayu), and blackened teeth (Ohaguro).
Official Seals on Reverse:
The inner surface features traditional red lacquer inscriptions noting "Yuki no Ko-omote" along with the official publishing mark of the NHK Service Center Art Collection.
Contemporary Interior Display:
With its pristine white porcelain-like finish and serene classical expression, this museum-quality mask serves as a sophisticated cultural accent for modern Japandi interiors, minimal art walls, or private Asian theater collections.
【Materials & Construction】
Core Material: Molded Ceramic / Fine Composite Resin (Precision mold reproduction crafted for stability and detailed contouring).
Surface Finish: Matte white gesso-style pigmented coating, replicating the soft porcelain finish of classic Noh mask Gofun.
Pigments & Inscriptions: Painted facial detailing in black sumi and vermilion red, with stamped/painted red lacquer (Shu-urushi) inscriptions on the reverse.
【Condition】
Exhibits excellent, remarkably clean vintage condition overall. The painted surface retains its soft matte finish with only extremely subtle handling marks around the outer edge.
