Classification: Martian meteorite (Shergottite)
History: The meteorite was found by meteorite hunters during a search in the Bir al Jahmah DCA of Libya and subsequently purchased by Ali Muftha.
Physical characteristics: Many gray-light green fragments partly covered with fresh black fusion crust. Several vesicles are exposed at the surface.
Petrography: The meteorite is composed of up to 5 mm-sized pigeonite crystals with pronounced Ca-rich rims often enclosing smaller olivine chadacrysts set in a microgabbroic matrix dominated by ferroan olivine (about 38 vol%), finely exsolved pigeonite (about 34 vol%), maskelynite (about 26 vol%), and rare augite. Olivines frequently contain magmatic inclusions. Minor phases (about 2 vol%) include merrillite, ilmenite, chromite, Ti-bearing chromite, and troilite. Contains shock melt pockets.
