Artwork Description

Antique N8 is an atmospheric work built around the encounter between darkness and light.

A deep charcoal and smoky-black field occupies most of the composition, while a luminous horizontal passage emerges gradually through the darkness. The light appears almost as a distant horizon, creating a sense of depth, silence and suspended time.

The surface is rich in subtle texture and expressive brushwork. In the lower section, the dark tones move in broad circular gestures, giving the painting a quiet sense of movement beneath the luminous area.

Very discreet touches of aged gold appear within the transition between light and darkness. They are deliberately subtle, allowing the work to change according to the position of the viewer and the surrounding illumination.

The varnished surface creates delicate iridescent effects. Under certain lighting conditions, some of the luminous areas can appear almost white, while under softer or warmer light the aged golden and smoky tones become more apparent.

Light is an essential part of the work. Natural daylight and artificial illumination reveal different nuances throughout the day, changing the intensity of the contrasts and allowing new details to emerge depending on the direction and strength of the light.

Descripción de la obra

Antique N8 es una obra atmosférica construida alrededor del encuentro entre la oscuridad y la luz.

Un profundo campo de negros carbón y grises ahumados ocupa gran parte de la composición, mientras una franja luminosa aparece progresivamente entre la oscuridad. La luz surge casi como un horizonte lejano, creando una sensación de profundidad, silencio y tiempo suspendido.

La superficie presenta una textura sutil y un gesto pictórico muy marcado. En la zona inferior, los tonos oscuros se desplazan mediante amplios movimientos circulares, aportando a la obra una sensación de movimiento silencioso bajo la zona luminosa.

Pequeños y muy discretos toques de dorado envejecido aparecen en la transición entre la luz y la oscuridad. Son deliberadamente sutiles, permitiendo que la obra cambie según la posición del espectador y la iluminación que la rodea.

El acabado con barniz genera delicados efectos de iridiscencia. Bajo determinadas condiciones de luz, algunas zonas luminosas pueden parecer casi blancas, mientras que con una iluminación más suave o cálida adquieren mayor presencia los matices dorados envejecidos y ahumados.
