The Canon AE-1 is one of Canon’s most iconic 35mm SLR cameras, combining straightforward manual-focus operation with a convenient shutter-priority automatic exposure system.

This example features the attractive black-finished body and is paired with the Canon FD 50mm F1.4 S.S.C., a bright standard prime lens that is especially well suited to portraits, everyday photography and available-light shooting.

The camera is in clean and attractive cosmetic condition.

The black exterior has been well preserved and remains in good overall condition, giving the camera a very pleasing classic appearance.

It has a neat and well-kept presentation and shows that it has been stored with care.

As part of the servicing process, the light seals have been replaced with new ones to help prevent light leaks.

The replaced seals have also been installed neatly, leaving the relevant areas clean and well maintained.

The viewfinder has been carefully cleaned as part of the servicing process.

It is very clear and provides excellent visibility for focusing and composition.

This is not simply an exterior wipe-down; the finder has been checked and cleaned with actual usability in mind.

There is only a very slight amount of thin haze inside the lens.

It does not affect normal photography.

Apart from this slight haze, the optics are clear overall and retain good transparency.

All basic functions work properly.

The shutter speeds have been measured using professional camera testing equipment and adjusted for proper operation.

Rather than judging shutter operation only by sound or visual inspection, the shutter has been checked through actual measurement, which is an important part of the servicing performed on this camera.

Film advance and rewind operate properly.

The exposure system operates properly.

The lens focus and aperture mechanisms also operate properly.

The camera has been prepared with actual film photography in mind and is ready for normal use.
