Magnifique ancienne lampe lanterne de visiteur de la société nationale des chemins de fer Français, elle était utilisée dans les gares et les postes de chemins de fer, par les agents cheminots à terre, depuis le quai notamment. 
 La poignée en acier offre quant à elle une préhension aisée de la lanterne par le haut ou par l’arrière.
