アユタヤの大きな胴部は、仏像を構成する3つの部品のうちの1つです。優雅な曲線と柔らかな線で構成され、左肩に掛けられた透き通るチュニックの細部を保持しています。腕の配置から、仏陀は膝を組んで座り、手は地を指す印（地を指す印）をしていた可能性が高いです。
1350年から1767年の間、アユタヤはシャム王国（現在のタイ王国）の第2の首都でした。三つの川の合流点に理想的に位置し、繁栄して東半球と西半球の貿易の中心地となりました。
