ロマン派画家カスパー・ダヴィッド・フリードリヒの生誕二百周年を記念して発行された銀貨。表面には東ドイツの国家シンボルであるハンマーとコンパスを穀物の穂が取り囲む紋章が配置され、裏面には彼の横顔の胸像が、落ち着いた現代的な造形で右向きに表現されています。珠玉がはっきりと浮き、地金は非常に清浄で、鋳造の輝きが豊富に現れており、高いMS67の格付けにふさわしいごくわずかな表面痕のみを有します。初回の発行枚数は75,000枚で、そのうち25,584枚が後に溶解され、現在は49,416枚となっています。
