ミゲル・ガランド(カスぺ、サラゴサ、1951年)は、バルセロナ大学で哲学の学位を取得し、同大学で美術の勉強も行った。1984年にマドリードへ移る。いわゆる80年代世代に属し、彼の絵画は物質性への回帰、人物の中心性を擁護し、その結果、絵画の視覚の本質的な点における人間の悲劇の状況を強調する。

彼は Galerie Briggitte Schenk(ケルン)、Galería AAM(ローマ)やマドリードのJuana Mordóなどで作品を発表しており、彼の作品は Banco Bilbao Vizcaya や Círculo de Bellas Artes などの機関のコレクションに所蔵されている。 Arnold Schönbergの『Napoleónへの歌』と Johannes Brahmsの『Cuatro canciones serias』の舞台美術の作者であり、これらの公演は2009年7月にCBAで上演された。2009年10月にはニューヨークのThe Gabarron Foundationで展示会を開く。
