コンゴ民主共和国産の上質なムゴ族の木製カヌー用のバイラー、またはスコップです。
この類の物は、切りり抜きカヌーから水を排出するために用いられました。深く長い形状は機能的であると同時に高度に彫塑的で、周縁が立ち上がっているため水をすくい上げてすぐに放出できます。
本品は特に力強い葉状のシルエットと中央の盛り上がりが魅力的です。内部はくり抜かれており、船形のダイナミックなフォルムで、面には面取りされた側面があり、内面は暗く使い込まれた状態です。外側には、端部の暗い色と中央部の暖かい茶色の対照が美しく現れています。
上部の取っ手には吊り下げ用の穴が開けられており、展示時には縦方向の、ほとんど盾のような存在感を与えます。形は素朴ですが力強く、強いグラフィック性と美しい古い使用痕が特徴です。
