MCM Ceramic Masonic Ashtray/ Display or Coin holder.– Cobalt Blue & Gold Leaf – Hand Signed - 灰皿 - Ceramic

stunning, beautifully preserved mid-century ceramic Masonic ashtray, hand-dated signed.
Can be used as a display or coin tray…

The color blue is the foundational and primary color of Craft Freemasonry, representing universal friendship, benevolence, truth, and the celestial canopy of heaven.
• The Vault of Heaven: Blue symbolizes the sky or the dome of heaven, which arches over and embraces all the nations and peoples of the earth, reminding Masons that their virtues and brotherly love should be equally boundless.
• Core Virtues: It stands for fidelity, loyalty, constancy, wisdom, and eternal truth.
• Immortality: Historically and across many ancient cultures (including Jewish, Egyptian, and Babylonian traditions), blue has been tied to divinity, perfection, and immortality.

This piece features the iconic Square and Compasses with the Central "G" highlighted in vibrant gold leaf paint, beautifully contrasted against a deep, glossy cobalt blue glazed finish.

The bottom showcases a clean, hand-incised artisan maker's mark (monogram)

Excellent condition with a highly reflective glaze finish, it is completely flawless and free of chips/cracks.
