イビスの鳥は、ホルスとセトとの闘いの和解者であり、ホルスの目の癒し手であるトート神と結びつけられていたため、古代エジプトで聖なる存在とみなされていました。また、それは人間の要素の一つであるアクとも関係づけられ、体の光のようなものを表す鳥として捉えられていました。
イビスは古代エジプトで宗教的崇敬の対象となり、神ジフティ（Djehuty）—「イビスのような者」という意味—、あるいはギリシャ語でトートと呼ばれる神と結びつけられていました。彼は知恵、知識、書記、数学、測量、時間、月、魔法を司り、エジプトの神々の中で最も重要な三柱の一柱でした。その信仰は先王朝期（紀元前6000–紀元前3150年）からプトレマイオス朝期（紀元前323–紀元前30年）にまで及びました。
出所：1966年以前にはスイスのハンス・ハルター博士のコレクションの一部だった。EU内では2006年から；ドイツのオークションハウスにて2025年取得。

The pieces we offer come from the Ifergan Collection Museum, which guarantees their historical value and quality. Our goal is to bring authentic archaeological pieces to both collectors and those who wish to start collecting, offering original works for different budgets and always with the maximum guarantees. All our pieces have been legally acquired and are shipped with a certificate of authenticity and export permit issued by the Spanish Ministry of Culture, with fast and secure shipping via DHL Express.
