Indus Valley Civilization square stamp seal
成熟期ハラッパ文明期、紀元前2600–1900年ごろ
前面には動物が彫刻された正方形の滑石(ソープストーン)印章、背面には貫通された凸 Star? not star. The raised, perforated boss on the reverse. The front shows a standing two-horned ram or goat in profile, body marked with incised ribs, facing right. Above the animal’s back is a short row of incised signs typical of Indus script or related plant motifs. The reverse has the characteristic rounded boss with a string hole so the seal could be worn or used to press clay.
