オパールは比較的低温で沈着し、ほとんどあらゆる岩の亀裂に生じ得ますが、最も多く見られるのはリモナイト、砂岩、流紋岩、泥灰岩、玄武岩とともにです。宝石級オパールだけが内部色の変化する相互作用を示します。
