日本造幣局は1975年から櫻花大道シリーズの記念メダルを製造しています。 このメダルの表面には大阪造幣局が創業時の正門が描かれており、この旧正門は明治4年（1871年）に造幣寮が創設された際の正門で、現在は大阪市北区天満の造幣局内にあります。 普通の仿古建築ではなく、日本の近代造幣局創設初期の歴史的建造物です。 設計監督は英国の技師 T. J. Waters（ウォートルス）に関係します。2015年「旧造幣寮」は国の指定史跡に指定されました。 造幣局の櫻花大道は日本で極めて有名な花見スポットでもあるため、この記念メダルは歴史的価値が高く、コレクターは絶対に見逃してはいけません。
