Rated Excellent on Trustpilot.
Exceptional transparent Baltic amber pendant featuring a long-bodied beetle inclusion (Cerambycidae) from the Eocene with natural, authentic material and a 925 sterling silver bail.
Description from the seller
### Material & Inclusions
Authentic Baltic amber with a brilliant transparent golden-yellow tone, polished to reveal a beautifully preserved long-bodied BEETLE, most consistent with a longhorn-type beetle (Cerambycidae). The main insect displays an elongated segmented body, distinct thorax and abdomen, long jointed legs, and especially prominent segmented antennae extending far beyond the head. The hardened wing covers are visible along the body, with translucent membranous wings also discernible beneath them.
The main BEETLE is accompanied by numerous much smaller insect and arthropod inclusions scattered throughout the amber. Several tiny forms show visible legs and antenna-like appendages, although their exact identification is not possible from the available views. Fine organic fibers, plant-like debris, and numerous naturally formed spherical air bubbles add considerable depth around the fossil inclusions.
### Craftsmanship & Presentation
Shaped into a smooth, elegant oval form with a softly rounded profile and highly polished surfaces. The amber is securely fitted with a 925 sterling silver bail, creating a refined presentation while keeping the focus on the exceptionally detailed fossil inclusions.
The high transparency of the amber allows the main BEETLE and surrounding micro-inclusions to remain visible from multiple angles, creating a miniature prehistoric scene within the stone.
### UV Testing & Fluorescence
Under ultraviolet light, the amber displays a strong blue-green fluorescence characteristic of natural Baltic amber. The fluorescence and internal structure are consistent with genuine natural amber.
### Pendant Dimensions
Approximately 19.2 × 11.4 × 7.3 mm
### Geological Origin
Age: approximately 35–50 million years
Epoch: Eocene
Region: Baltic Sea area — globally renowned for amber containing exceptionally preserved fossil insects and other organic inclusions
### Condition & Authenticity
This is a one-of-a-kind natural Baltic amber specimen containing a prominent BEETLE inclusion accompanied by numerous smaller insect or arthropod inclusions, organic debris, and natural air bubbles. The amber has been carefully polished to maximize clarity while preserving the natural fossil material within.
The combination of a clearly visible long-antenna BEETLE and numerous surrounding micro-inclusions gives this small pendant the character of a miniature fossil ecosystem preserved in ancient amber.
