開く扇はそれぞれ異なる美術的モチーフを展開しています：花・吉祥文様、白梅、蝶のペア、ほか。紙地の上に荒々しい白波が描かれ、絹の四角片が点在し、それぞれが独自の場景を豪華に描いています。結果は色彩と細部に富んだ、印象的で鮮やかな構図です。

黒漆塗りの木製フレームに保護用の金属金具を備えています。
