Description from the seller

Lot 3 Official BU box set

1- Malta - Official Annual Box Set 2008 - “Maltese Euro Coin Collection” BU (8 coins + ingot) - Malta’s First Euro

Magnificent official box set "Maltese Euro Coin Collection" from 2008, marking Malta’s historic transition to the European single currency. It is the very first official subdivision series issued by the Central Bank of Malta.

Lot characteristics:
• Quality: BU (Brilliant Uncirculated)
• Presentation: Original luxury wooden lacquered case with red felt lining.
• Contents: Complete series of 8 coins (1 cent to 2 euros) + 1 commemorative gold-plated ingot engraved "2008".
• Limited print run: Individually numbered copy. Officially certified by the signature of Michael C. Bonello, Governor of the Central Bank of Malta at that date.
• Serial number of this box set: 33 181 / 40 000

Details of the coin motifs included:
- 1, 2, and 5 cents: The prehistoric Mnajdra temple altar.
- 10, 20 and 50 cents: Malta’s coat of arms.
- 1 and 2 euros: The famous eight-point Maltese Cross.
(Note: the coins bear the Paris Mint workshop letter "F" engraved in one of the stars, specific to the first issuance in 2008).

Condition: Very good overall. The inner box, the textured certificate of authenticity, and the coins under capsules are impeccable (see photos for details of the wooden case).

2 - BU Slovenia 2017 – Banka Slovenije (Eurosystem)

Official series of 10 coins from the Bank of Slovenia, presented in its original cardboard box:

• the 8 circulating coins, from 1 cent to 2 €, (stork, the ploughman, Lipizzaner horses, Triglav, Primož Trubar, France Prešeren…),
• the 2 € commemorative “10 years of the euro in Slovenia” (swallows),
• the 3 € commemorative “100 years of the May Declaration” (Majniška deklaracija).

The inner booklet is bilingual Slovenian/English and recounts the history of the May 1917 Declaration and the introduction of the euro in Slovenia. The coins are brilliant, with no visible trace, well seated in their slots.

Condition and defects to note:

• The outer wrap paper is damaged: the top is creased and wrinkled, with waviness and pronounced folds on the illustration, a corner torn or cut at the top and light handling marks.
• The inner white case is in much better condition, with only a slight crease.
• Pen annotations: “SLOVENIA serie + 3 euro” on the back of the case and “SLOVENIA 2017” on the inner carton.

The defect concerns only the paper packaging, not the coins.

3 - San Marino 2016 – Official BU box set “International Mother Earth Day” – 8 euro coins + 5 € silver 925

Official Fior di Conio BU box set of the Republic of San Marino, year 2016, issued by the Segreteria di Stato Finanze e Bilancio, themed on International Mother Earth Day.
