この斧は長さ15 cm x 幅6 cm x 高さ3.5 cmです。
この優雅に磨かれた火打石の斧は、サハラ砂漠のニジェールにあるテネレ地域出身で、豊かな先史時代の遺産を有する地域です。この種の斧は、地域を住んでいた初期の砂漠文化と関連づけられており、タオレグ以前の時代とされます。特徴は、精巧な職人技、丁寧な研磨、そして機能的でありながら象徴的にも使われた器具としての調和のとれた形です。世界で最も象徴的な砂漠地域の一つである場所からの、本物で美的価値のある一品です。
2019年にユトレヒトで開催されたコレクターズ・フェアでコレクターから購入しました。以後、私のコレクションに所蔵しています。
