Description from the seller
exquisite vintage green glass wine decanter, crafted in the traditional German *Bocksbeutel* shape (a flattened ellipsoid) and fully encased in a substantial, hand-forged iron framework.
The metalwork features a striking heraldic shield on the front, topped by a finely detailed medieval knight's helmet. The decanter is complemented by a beautiful handle with scrolled detailing, a stable three-legged base, and an original stopper featuring a loop and an iron finial.
Manufacturer and origin: authenticity is confirmed by an original brass plaque on the base bearing the inscription "Heinrich Zwirner – Bauschlosserei – Lauda/Baden" (an artistic ironwork and metal-fitting workshop from the historic town of Lauda in the Baden region of Germany). Condition: very good vintage condition. The emerald-green glass is completely intact, free of cracks or chips. The forged elements bear a beautiful dark patina; minor, natural signs of surface wear and oxidation on the lower section highlight the piece's mid-20th-century character.
Photos are part of the description.
This item will be carefully packed, with lots of protective material and in a sturdy shipping box. Shipping with insurance and tracking code.
