教会の象徴画とルネサンスの巨匠たちの暗い明暗表現から着想を得たアトーンメントは、道徳的な清算、贖罪、そして罪の重荷についての作品です。被写体の背骨に沿って並ぶ燃えるキャンドルは、生々しい、祭壇のような重さを帯びたもの— trespass（犯した罪）の literal carrying と、苦難への厳粛な耐えることの象徴です。被写体の両脇を囲むザクロは、地下世界の影と再生・更新の約束を意味する二重のギリシャ語シンボルであり、全体の情景は raw な犠牲と霊的回復の究極の希望とを均衡させています。

ARTISTについて

エレナ・パラスケヴァの作品は、スウェーデン公共美術部門（ Västra Götaland Government ）、米国ボストン病院（子どもがんウィングの入り口にある500 cmの大規模インスタレーションを含む）、オーストラリア国立大学、タラッサ美術館、Affinity（Serif）などの機関・企業コレクションに所蔵されています。

彼女の作品は、ブリュッセルの欧州議会、フローレンス・ビエンナーレなどの大規模ビエンナーレ、ニューヨーク、パリ、東京、ロンドン、ドバイ、サンパウロ、ウィーン、バルセロナ、ミュンヘン、クアラルンプール、フランクフルト、マラガ、リンツ、グラーツ、シエナなどのギャラリーで展示されています。

2026年には、写真界の伝説クリストファー・モリス（TIME誌とともに30年間在籍、白い家の取材を9年含む）とマグヌムのフォトグラファー Alec Soth により、表彰・展示の選定を受けた2人の写真のレジェンドとして紹介されました。

2024年・2023年・2021年・2018年のInternational Photographer of the Year（4つの異なる国際写真協会から表彰）に選出されています。

Hasselblad Masters、World Masters of Photography、LensCulture、Aesthetica、Prix de la Photographie Paris、International Photography Awards (IPA)、Neutral Density Awards などから国際的な評価と主要な賞を受賞しています。

2021年以降、FLORIDA MUSEUM OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ARTS の審査員として、Fotografiska Museum のキュレーターや東京写真美術館の審査員とともに審査を務め、毎年複数の国際写真コンクールの審査員を務めています。元Adobeインストラクター・アンバサダーでもあります。
