この品は手作りの鉄製の挟み鋏（別名としてベーゲルシャーまたはシュパンスシャーと呼ばれることもあります）。このタイプの鋏は最も古い切断工具の形のひとつで、背面の鉄製のばね状アーチ（この“くさり”はここでの“beugel”に相当）によって機能し、押しつけ力を離すと二つの刃が自動的に外側へ戻ります。
