Memento Mori with a skull and vegetal tendril – painting on iron plate – late 17th century

Suggestive small-sized painting depicting a Memento Mori, executed on an iron plate, and housed within a deep frame.

The frame features a deep molding, patina, signs of wear, small woodworm holes (already treated) and irregularities of the wood. On the back the oxidized surface of the plate and old fixing interventions with adhesive paper are visible.
