Description from the seller
Monumentales Kukri-Schwert (67 cm / 1,8 kg) – Riesige Kothimora Prunk-Ausführung mit reich verzierter Scheide und 2 Beimessern – Nepal, 2. Hälfte 20. Jh.
Beschreibung:

Monumental Kukri Sword (67 cm / 1.8 kg) – Huge Kothimora Presentation Version with Richly Decorated Scabbard and 2 Companion Knives – Nepal, 2nd Half 20th C.
Description:
For sale is an exceptionally large, massive, and imposing Kothimora Kukri from Nepal, which due to its monumental dimensions and weight possesses the scale of a true short sword. Such magnificent pieces were traditionally crafted by hand as representative status and ceremonial objects for high-ranking individuals or for special presentation purposes.
The mighty, characteristically curved blade is an impressive 46 cm long and almost entirely engraved on both sides with elaborate, traditional ornaments. With a blade width of 6 cm and a total weight of 1.8 kg, this sword feels extremely heavy and powerful in hand. The solid hilt is made of polished brass (length: 17 cm) and features decorative rings. The traditional "Cho" notch (Kaudi) is located at the base of the blade.
The accompanying leather scabbard (width: 9 cm) is a masterpiece of craftsmanship: the front is fitted with richly decorated, chased brass and white metal mounts showing filigree floral patterns and traditional motifs. The back features integrated pockets for the two original companion knives (the sharp Karda and the sharpening steel Chakmak), which are included in the set.
