VITYRA - Rufus - No Reserve

Rufus
Oil and acrylic on canvas
100 cm x 140 cm (39 inches x 55 inches)

With his head gently tilted and a faint, crooked smile, Rufus meets the viewer with an expression somewhere between curiosity and quiet amusement. His open stance gives him a disarming presence, as though he has been caught just before saying something.

Painted in a contemporary neo-naïve style, the work combines elongated proportions, instinctive outlines, and bold areas of colour. Mustard yellow and olive green punctuate the pale figure, while deep black and warm sand create a striking backdrop. Delicate facial marks and the irregularity of the drawn edges bring intimacy to the large composition.

At 100 x 140 cm, Rufus balances graphic strength with a gentle eccentricity, a distinctive character whose appeal lies in his unguarded expression and understated confidence.
