Porcelain Kendi from the Wanli period (1573–1619) of the Ming Dynasty, China, decorated in underglaze blue with flowering plants and a bird, fitted with an elaborately worked white metal cover and neck mount with an attached chain; height 20 cm, width 14 cm, diameter 14 cm, in excellent condition with a very short glaze line on the body, minor surface scratches and stains, and a small thin chip to the foot rim.
